Katie Ellias is a Senior Associate at Sofinnova Partners. She joined the company in 2011 and specializes in the medical device sector. Prior to Sofinnova, Ms. Ellias spent five years at Medtronic's headquarters in Switzerland and the US, most recently leading marketing for the Coronary Vascular business in Europe. She also initiated and directed the Medtronic Eureka program, an international initiative aimed at facilitating collaboration between Medtronic and early-stage medical device inventors. Before moving to Europe, Ms. Ellias was as a Senior Business Development Associate for Medtronic's Cardiac Surgery division in Minneapolis. Previously, Ms. Ellias worked as a contract negotiator for Partners Healthcare System in Boston (the region's largest hospital network including Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women's Hospital) focusing on healthcare policy and healthcare finance. She began her career as a consultant with McKinsey & Company in Boston.
Ms. Ellias acts as a board observer on ReCor Medical and MD Start. She is also actively involved in the Bohemian Medical Device Summit.
Ms. Ellias holds a BA in International Relations and Political Science from Yale University and an MBA in Healthcare Management from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
