After obtaining an MBA from Wharton School, Pierre-Yves Roussel began his career as an analyst with the CCF bank before joining the consulting firm McKinsey & Company, where he held a series of executive positions before being elected Partner in 1998, and then appointed to the senior partnership board of the firm in 2004.

Roussel joined LVMH in 2004 as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Operations. In 2006, he was named Chairman and CEO of the Fashion Division, which includes numerous prestigious brands (Céline, Givenchy, Kenzo, Loewe, Marc Jacobs, Pucci, and Rossimoda). He is a member of the LVMH Executive Committee.
